Yukiko Tomishima After spending more than a decade working in Japan, I went back to school in the United States, finding a place where I can express myself. The first year I came to Seattle, I studiedEnglish and, by my second year, had enrolled in the visual communication technology program at Shoreline community college. While there I realized I wanted to continue to develop my design skills. By chance I found a poster of the Robert B McMillen Foundation. This unexpected event leads me to obtain a Bachelor Fine Art degree. I graduated Cornish College of the Arts with Magna Cum Laude 2008. During my studies at Cornish, I found myself as a cultural designer who understands both Japanese and American methods of effective visual communication. I expect to be using these skills and experience in design and hope to work both in Japan and the United States as a graphic designer.
