This year marked the fourth year that we accepted applications for our scholarship program. Once Again, the applications were put through the rigorous process of evaluating
financial need, merit, and talent.

Financial need was determined by a worksheet
completed by the colleges from information submitted on
student's FAFSAs. Merit was determined by the applicant's
GPA, weighted 50% with their art class grades and their involvement in community activities, especially art-related
ones. Talent was evaluated by a panel of seven, scoring
each applicant's work on several key artistic areas as
well as a score for the creativity and completeness of
the essays submitted with the applications. The top
scoring individuals were brought in for
personal interviews and an impromptu art
activity. In the interview process, we looked for
focus, drive and applicants with clear realistic visions of their future as well as willingness to give back to their communities from the heart.

As a foundation, we are investors in these scholars lives. The return on our investment is the good our scholars will eventually do in the world and the positive influence they will eventually have on their peers, employees and others they impact in the world.

We here at the Robert B McMillen Foundation are proud to present the following artists as our investment in promoting positive change in the art world and the way society views artists.
