Art Colleges Our college list is based upon those schools which have met the needs of our foundation in that they are located in the states of Washington or Alaska, can easily provide answers to our questions, and are easy to work with after scholarships have been awarded. Since we are a small Foundation, we have found that we simply do not have the staff to accommodate the enormous administrative burden of awarding scholarships to the larger universities and those universities which have procedures and policies contradictory to the needs of our scholarship program. The following colleges are fully approved for scholarships at this time.
We are aware that many schools, including community colleges and technical schools, offer degrees and/or certification in visual art. Too many, in fact, to include each one on our list of approved colleges. However, if a student's artwork is strong enough and they agree to take on the administrative portion of their scholarship if awarded, they may apply for a scholarship under the college or technical school they are currently attending as long as the school meets the following requirements: 1) The school must be located in the state of Washington or Alaska, 2) The school must offer a degree or certification in visual art, and 3) The school must issue grades so that a GPA can be calculated. |
